MISHAWAKA, Ind. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's volleyball team continued its strong play on the road, earning its second consecutive sweep with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-21 victory over Bethel University on Saturday evening inside Goodman Gymnasium. The Gray Wolves improve to 11-8 overall and 8-5 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action.
Felipe Tramontin and Jaber Badarne led the way with 10 kills each, while Vinicius Lopes added nine as Lourdes hit .241 as a team. The Gray Wolves capitalized on Bethel's errors, as the Pilots were limited to a .133 hitting percentage with 19 attack errors.
Lourdes established control early, hitting .385 in the opening set while forcing eight Bethel errors to claim a 25-18 win. The second set proved to be the tightest of the night, but the Gray Wolves held on late for a 25-23 victory before closing out the match with a 25-21 triumph in the third.
Defensively, Brayden Moyars paced Lourdes with 11 digs, while Bianco dished out 25 assists and added six digs of his own. At the service line, Badarne led all players with three aces as Lourdes finished with a 7-2 advantage in that category.
The win keeps Lourdes in fourth place in the WHAC standings as the regular season winds down. The Gray Wolves have been led by standout performances across multiple statistical categories, with Badarne and Lopes both ranking third in the conference in kills per set (3.68). On the defensive side, Moyars leads the WHAC in total digs (222) and digs per set (3.22), while Lopes also ranks among the top five in total digs (140). Setter Joey Bianco continues to guide the Lourdes offense, ranking fifth in the league with 7.63 assists per set.
