Competitive Cheer Captures WHAC Championship

Gray Wolves Win First Title Since 2018, Secure NAIA Nationals Berth

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (LourdesAthleticscom) – For the third time in program history and the first time since 2018, the Lourdes University cheer team has captured the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Competitive Cheer Championship, winning the tournament on Saturday at Aquinas College.

After finishing second in the WHAC regular-season standings, the Gray Wolves delivered a stellar performance in the championship meet. Lourdes posted an 84.63 in the preliminary round before recording an event-best 87.00 in the finals, securing the title with a combined score of 86.41. Siena Heights University (84.67) finished as the runner-up, while regular-season champion Concordia University (84.59) placed third. Madonna University (71.57), Aquinas College (71.10), and Rochester Christian University (67.50) completed the standings.

This victory marks Lourdes' first WHAC title in seven years and ends Concordia's five-year reign as conference champions.
