Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Defense Powers Double-Digit Victory over Siena Heights

Win is the first at Siena Heights in program history

ADRIAN, Mich. – Lourdes women's basketball (12-4) (8-2 in WHAC) beat Siena Heights (5-8) (4-6 in WHAC) 81 to 70 on Saturday afternoon, improving to 4-4 on the road and becoming the third team in the conference to get eight WHAC wins.

The Gray Wolves have put some separation between themselves and the nine teams below them in the conference and are still just one game behind Indiana Tech and Rochester Christian for first place.

The victory was the first on the road at Siena Heights in program history and is another record that this 2025-26 Gray Wolf squad has unlocked this season.

Lourdes was down eight to two early on in the first quarter before junior guard Kaylona Butler starting driving to the hoop and consistently getting fouled. Butler knocked down several free throws and a three-pointer and the game was soon tied at 14 with two minutes left in the first. The Gray Wolves ended off the quarter on a 7-2 run to take a 21-16 lead.

Free throws were a catalyst for Lourdes' offense all afternoon as the team made a season-high 21 shots from the charity stripe. They were sent to the line a season-high 31 times by Siena Heights, showcasing the downhill attacking-the-basket attitude that Lourdes had.

The second quarter featured even more of Kaylona Butler. The local Toledo Christian high school product dropped nine more points and helped give the Gray Wolves a 12-point halftime lead. Butler had 18 total points on the night as well as six rebounds.

The third quarter pushed the Gray Wolf lead up to 16 with Emma Pedroza's 10 points leading the way in the quarter. The senior guard made three straight jumpers in the middle of the quarter as well as two layups to end the quarter. Pedroza ended the game leading all scorers with 26.

The fourth quarter started off extremely shaky for Lourdes. Siena Heights went on an 11-0 run in the first five minutes off the back of eight Gray Wolves turnovers. The run was surprising as Lourdes had only six turnovers heading into the fourth quarter and had over half of their turnovers in the game during that five-minute run alone.

The run was stopped by freshman guard Keylasia Harris' two free throws, pushing the lead back to seven. The Saints then continued to close the gap on offense, making it a slim 69-65 Gray Wolf lead with four minutes to go.

However, the Saints' hopes were crushed when Oliwia Dyja stole the ball from sophomore guard Kanyla Tyler, leading to a dagger three-pointer from Emma Pedroza to increase the lead to seven with three minutes to go.

A Keylasia Harris mid-range shot and a Tamyah Worthy layup in the latter minutes put the game on ice, giving Lourdes the double-digit victory.

Keylasia Harris played the best quarter of her young Lourdes career in the fourth, scoring seven points on five free throws and helping Lourdes stay ahead. Harris had a career-high 13 points off the bench in just her third game playing this season. She also went 9-for-11 (81.8%) from the free throw line.

Another impressive performance was by senior forward Tamyah Worthy, who had a season-high 11 rebounds and was a basket away from a double-double.

Overall, defensively, Lourdes held Siena Heights to 38.7% shooting from the field and 29.4% shooting from the three-point line. The Gray Wolves also forced 15 Saints turnovers thanks to four blocks and 10 steals.

Coach Bradford's Postgame Comments
