GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Lourdes women's basketball (14-4) (10-2 in WHAC) destroyed Cornerstone (7-11) (5-7 in WHAC) 84 to 65 on Saturday afternoon, extending their winning streak to three games and staying one game back from first place in the WHAC.
1st Quarter
Senior forward
Tamyah Worthy went three-for-three with two layups and a jumper for Lourdes in the first quarter, helping to offset Cornerstone's offense that started the game shooting 40 percent from the three-point line.
The first quarter was fairly close and back and forth the entire time. Junior guard
Kaylona Butler hit a three-pointer at the close of the quarter to extend the slim Gray Wolves lead to four.
2nd Quarter
The second quarter was dominated by Lourdes with the Gray Wolves outscoring the Golden Eagles 29 to nine. Senior guard
Emma Pedroza tallied 16 points in the quarter to give her 22 at the half. She was four-from-five from the three-point line in the quarter and six-for-nine overall from the field. She ended the game with a career-high 34 points and notched her second 30-point game of the season against Cornerstone.
The Gray Wolves went on a 15-0 run from two minutes left to go in the first quarter to the seven and a half minute mark in the second. They also had two separate 8-0 runs in the second quarter to push the lead to 24 at the half, leading the Golden Eagles 50 to 26.
3rd Quarter
Senior forward
Camryn Ivy scored seven points in the third quarter to help Lourdes lead the quarter 20 to 19 over Cornerstone and push the game's lead to 25 points heading into the fourth. Ivy ended the game with a Lourdes career-high 18 points, while also adding two blocks to her stat line.
4th Quarter
Lourdes held onto their double digit lead, finishing the game winning by 19. Coach Bradford put a variety of backups in the game that contributed to the team's success as well. Senior guard
Ray Armstrong got a steal and hit a three-pointer, junior guard
Ashley Zawisza got a pair of rebounds to bring her total in the game to five, and senior guard
Carly Maple got an assist and a rebound. Â
Stats
Lourdes had a season-low seven turnovers in the afternoon, massively contributing to their successful performance. The Gray Wolves also outrebounded the Golden Eagles by three, outshot them by nine percent from the field, outshot them by 18 percent from the three-point line and made seven more free throws.
The Gray Wolves' three-point shooting was outstanding in the victory. Lourdes made 11 triples, the second most they've made all season. The 52.4% three-point percentage was by far the team's highest of the year.

"I'm really proud of how focused and ready the team was to start the second half of WHAC play," coach Bradford said. "They are understanding how each person on our team contributes and they all work really hard at our defense. Anytime we can lead them to not only a successfully executed game, but also see them have fun together, it's an excellent game day. Â

Lourdes heads back to the Ebeid Rec Center on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 pm to take on Madonna. The Gray Wolves will look to extend their undefeated home record to 10-0.Â
