SYLVANIA, Ohio. – Lourdes women's basketball (18-4) (14-2 in WHAC) defeated Cleary (11-11) (9-7 in WHAC) 74 to 65 in comeback fashion on Saturday afternoon.
The win came during the Gray Wolves' "Court vs. Cancer Night" where donations were made throughout the afternoon to The Victory Center and Mercy Children's Hospital.
Lourdes' undefeated home record improved to 12-0 on the season, despite being down 11 at the half and 14 with nine minutes left to go in the third quarter.
A 24 to 4 fourth quarter advantage by Lourdes pulled the Gray Wolves out of their game long deficit into a nine-point win. The Lourdes defense held the Cougars to just 13.3% from the field in the fourth compared to their own 44.4%.
Lourdes' senior guard
Emma Pedroza led all scorers in the game with a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double. The performance is her fourth 20-pointer in the last five games and her fourth double-double of the season.
"We lost to them the first time, so it was a really big confidence boost for us to win," Pedroza said postgame. "I'm just really proud of our girls and how everyone contributed."
Senior forward
Tamyah Worthy also had an incredible game defensively, locking down Cougar defenders on the perimeter and in the paint. She had two huge steals in the second half and eight rebounds on the night to go along with her 10 points.
"We know how we can play when we play together, play good defense and communicate," Worthy said postgame. "We expect a lot from ourselves, so we have each other's backs to pick it up and bring the energy to win the game."
Other Lourdes standouts included junior guard
Kaylona Butler who nearly had a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Senior forward
Camryn Ivy had 12 points and six rebounds. Senior guard
Oliwia Dyja had seven points, including an enormous three-pointer from the middle of the arc with a minute to go in the game to put the Gray Wolves up four.
Coach Bradford's Postgame Comments

Liv hit a three, Cam did her job under the rim, Kaylona and Emma drew the attention, Tamyah was spurring the defense and Keylasia as a freshman followed that intensity."
