Cliff Howe joined the Lourdes University baseball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2022.

During his first season with the Gray Wolves, the program produced a First Team All Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference selection as well as a Second Team All-WHAC honoree. In addition, 16 players were named to the WHAC All-Academic Team and 14 earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Howe arrived at Lourdes after spending eight seasons as the head baseball coach at Macomb Community College.  He ranked second in program history recording 135 victories at the helm of the Monarchs.  He had 47 players move on to play at four-year programs following their stint at Macomb.

He began as an assistant coach in 2011 at Macomb prior to taking over the head job.

Howe also serves as a head coach in the Ripken Summer Collegiate League and is an associate scout for the Texas Rangers, a role he has served in since 2013.

He also has professional coaching experience, having served on the staff of the Frontier Grey’s of the Frontier League in 2013 and the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association in 2014.

Howe is a 1988 graduate of Wayne State University where he earned his business degree.
