Tim Berta joined the Lourdes baseball coaching staff prior to the 2012 season as an assistant coach. He assists with the junior varsity program as well as the catchers and hitters.
Berta arrived on campus from Bluffton University, where he spent one season as a student assistant. He was a four-year football player and played two seasons of baseball with the Beavers prior to being involved in the Bluffton baseball bus accident in March of 2007 that cut his career short. He has battled back from numerous injuries, and has become an inspirational speaker on perseverance and the triumphs he has accomplished.
An All-Region performer in high school as well, Berta played football, basketball, and baseball at Ida High School in Michigan.
Berta earned his bachelor’s degree from Bluffton in biology in 2008 and is pursuing a master’s degree at Lourdes in organizational leadership.
