Aaron Nixon joined the Lourdes University men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2013-2014 season.
 
In his first season on the Gray Wolves’ bench, Lourdes posted 16 wins and produced a First Team All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference player. 
 
A native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Nixon spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Heidelberg University where he helped lead the guard play.  He also played professionally for four seasons in Israel, Bosnia, and Venezuela.
 
Nixon was an Honorable Mention All-American as a senior at Long Beach State University where he was the Big West Player of the Year in 2006-2007.  The Big West Conference tournament Most Valuable Player that same season, he averaged 18.8 points per game as a senior after scoring 14.6 points per contest as a junior.
 
Nixon began his collegiate career playing at Columbus State Community College for one season where he was a Third Team All-American before transferring to San Bernardino Valley Community College in 2004-2005 where he was named Foothill Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
 
A 2007 graduate of Long Beach State, Nixon received his bachelor’s degree in African-American history.  He is received his master’s degree in education from Heidelberg in 2013.
