Eric Worthey joined the Lourdes women’s basketball staff as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2016.
During his first season on the sidelines with the Gray Wolves, he helped coach a Second Team All Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference selection, the first in program history. In addition, he saw three players earn WHAC All-Academic honors.
Worthey arrived at Lourdes after playing basketball in La Vega, Dominican Republic and Palestine, Israel where he also coached youth teams in the junior division.
Worthey played for the Gray Wolves’ men’s team in 2013-2014, averaging 13.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 53.6% from the floor. He was also a 76.6% free throw shooter while at Lourdes. Worthey transferred to Lourdes after playing three years at Lake Erie College.
A 2014 graduate of Lourdes with a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in social studies, Worthey is currently pursuing his master’s degree in organizational leadership from the university.
