The Lourdes University men's volleyball team came up big on the road on Friday night as they traveled to Chicago, IL to take on the Cougars of St. Xavier University. The Gray Wolves won in 5 sets (24-26, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22 and 15-8) to complete the season sweep of the Cougars.
The Gray Wolves battled hard all game after losing the first set and trailing big in the second the Gray Wolves took advantage of Cougar mistakes by rallying for multiple points by Zander Epps and Nick DiMarco.
The biggest stat of the night was the blocks for the Gray Wolves as they controlled the net with 14 blocks to the Cougars 6. Lourdes would also dominate the kill stat as they piled up 57 kills on the night compared to just 43 for St. Xavier.
The Gray Wolves improve to 3-4 overall and 3-4 in MAMVIC play.
Next up for the Gray Wolves is a match on Saturday against Milwaukee School of Engineering at 5pm at the Kern Center in Milwaukee, WI.
