Â

Â
The opening set was one of runs as Lourdes scored four straight points to take an early 8-5 advantage only to see the Pilots answer with seven straight points of their own. Trailing 13-10, Lourdes went on an 8-2 spurt to retake the lead 18-15. The Gray Wolves extended the lead to four, 24-20, but Bethel fought off the four set points scoring five straight before taking the set 27-25.
Â
Lourdes raced out to a 7-3 lead in the second and increased the advantage to 14-7 before Bethel responded. A 12-4 run by the Pilots put the guest on top 19-18. The Gray Wolves battled back, scoring four straight points late to even the match at a set all with a 25-22 victory.
Â
The Gray Wolves never trailed in the third in taking a 2-1 lead in the contest.Â
Mallory Lenhart (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford H.S.) served the first eight points of the stanza and Lourdes never allowed Bethel to get any closer than four the rest of the way.
Â
Bethel looked poised to force a fifth set early in the fourth, taking a 12-6 lead before Lenhart's serve again brought Lourdes back. An 11-2 run put the Gray Wolves on top 17-14 and the Gray Wolves would never allow the Pilots to tie the set the rest of the way.
