Aaron Ashley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights H.S.) added 19 points as Lourdes opened the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday evening with a 92-51 triumph over Kuyper at Tam-o-Shanter.

Steinmetz finished the night with 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds and adding four steals in 24 minutes of play. Ashley hit four three-pointers while
E.J. Blackwell (Rochester, Pa./Rochester H.S.) added 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting in just 14 minutes of action.

"I thought we got a good team effort tonight," head coach
Andre Smith stated afterwards. "We did a good job of sharing the ball and got a lot of scoring in transition."

Lourdes defense forced 23 turnovers from Kuyper, 15 coming via steals, and held the Cougars to just 34.5% shooting for the night, including just a 25.8% clip over the final 20 minutes. The Gray Wolves converted the turnovers into 31 points while outscoring the Cougars 62-18 in the paint.

The Gray Wolves jumped out to a 16-5 lead less than five minutes into the contest and maintained a nine to 13 point lead for the next five minutes. Lourdes went on a 12-0 run to push the lead to 38-15 with 6:15 remaining in the half before eventually taking a 52-27 lead into the locker room following a three-pointer by
Jake DuPree (Toledo, Ohio/Whiteford H.S.) from just inside midcourt as the clock expired. DuPree finished the night with five points, five assists, and six steals.

The triple at the break was part of a 17-0 run that spanned the two halves as Lourdes scored the first 10 points of the second half. Kuyper was held without a field goal for the first six minutes of the second half as Lourdes built its lead to 40, 70-30, on the way to the team's third consecutive victory.

Kyle Hoek led Kuyper (1-4) with 13 points while CJ Bussey and Carlos Delvalle each added eight points. Delvalle also had eight rebounds for the Cougars.

Lourdes (3-1) will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves entertain Michigan-Dearborn. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
