Lourdes led by one at halftime on Saturday afternoon, but Indiana Tech shot 52.6% from three-point range, making 10 triples, and the Warriors defeated the Gray Wolves 74-62 at the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Gray Wolves started quickly, scoring 10 of the game's first 13 points to build a seven-point lead just over three minutes into the contest. Indiana Tech responded, cutting the deficit to two, before going on a 12-0 run to take a 22-14 lead with just under seven minutes remaining before halftime.

Lourdes still trailed by eight before
Aaron Ashley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights H.S.) made back-to-back three-pointers. After the teams traded scoring possessions, Ashley then drained his third triple in the final three minutes to put the Gray Wolves on top 30-29 at the break.

Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) basket to open the second half put Lourdes on top by three before Indiana Tech scored eight straight points to take the lead. Trailing 40-34, the Gray Wolves answered with eight straight points of their own to retake a two-point edge, 42-40, with 13 minutes remaining.

A three-point play by the Warriors put the hosts in front for good and began a 10-1 run. Lourdes was able to cut its deficit to three before another 8-0 spurt, keyed by back-to-back triples, gave Indiana Tech a double figure advantage with six minutes remaining. The Gray Wolves were unable pull any closer than five the rest of the way.

Ashley led Lourdes with 15 points off of the bench while
E.J. Blackwell (Rochester, Pa./Rochester H.S.) added 10 points. Steinmetz tallied nine points and 10 rebounds while
Jake DuPree (Toledo, Ohio/Whiteford H.S.) tallied nine points and six steals.

Lourdes shot 41.1% from the floor for the game, but just 35.3% over the final 20 minutes.Â

Josh Fleming led came off of the bench to score a game-high 18 points for Indiana Tech (5-6, 3-3 WHAC) while Franklin Lindsey added 14 points. A total of four Warriors finished the game in double figures.

Lourdes (7-3, 4-2) will return to action on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Akron Wayne. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on the campus of Adrian College.
