Lourdes Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Baldwin Wallace in Program Debut

Lourdes University's women's lacrosse team made its program debut on Saturday afternoon, falling 19-1 to Baldwin Wallace at George Finne Stadium in Berea, Ohio.
 
The Yellow Jackets scored seven times in the first 7:06 of the game before taking a 12-0 lead into halftime.  Lourdes scored for the first time in program history with 46 seconds remaining as Faith Fisher (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) found the back of the cage for an unassisted tally
 
Baldwin Wallace held a 31-12 shot advantage on the afternoon, including a 27-7 edge on goal.  Lolo Garza (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) made six saves in the opening 30 minutes for the Gray Wolves while Amanda Kaczmarek (Berkey, Ohio/Evergreen H.S.) made two stops in the second half.
 
Katie Cerveny (Erie, Mich./Mason Senior H.S.) led Lourdes with three shot attempts while Fisher and Allison Mazey (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton H.S.) each had two shots on goal.
 
Sierra Thomas scored five times for Baldwin Wallace (1-0) while Maddie Russell added three goals and two assists for the Yellow Jackets.
 
Lourdes (0-1) will open up Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Pontiac, Mich. to host Indiana Tech.  Action will begin at 2 p.m. at Ultimate Soccer Arena.  This game was originally scheduled for Tuesday evening, but has been moved due to field conditions.
