Lourdes University's women's lacrosse team opened its "home" season as well as Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon, falling 22-3 to second-ranked Indiana Tech at Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Mich.

In a game that had to be moved indoors due to snow, they Gray Wolves saw Indiana Tech jump out to an 8-0 lead before finding the back of the net.Â
Katie Cerveny (Erie, Mich./Mason Senior H.S.) scored her first collegiate goal with 18:08 to play in the first half, putting Lourdes on the scoreboard.

Molly Porterfield (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) found the back of the cage for the first time in her collegiate career with 38 seconds remaining in the contest to cap the Gray Wolves scoring.

Indiana Tech (1-1, 1-0 WHAC) outshot Lourdes 32-11 for the afternoon, including 29-8 on goal. Kendall Guthrie scored six times for the Warriors while Alexis Digiovanni added four goals and four assists for an eight-point day.

Amanda Kaczmarek (Berkey, Ohio/Evergreen H.S.) made seven saves in goal for the Gray Wolves while Meaghan Eldridge made four first half saves for Indiana Tech.

Lourdes (0-2, 0-1) will return to action on Saturday evening, hosting fifth-ranked Davenport. Play will begin at 9:30 p.m. in a game that has been moved indoors to Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, Mich.
