Lourdes won the first two sets on Friday evening against Robert Morris (Ill.) to begin a six-match road trip, but the Eagles battled back to defeat the Gray Wolves in five sets, 23-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 16-14 at the RMU Athletic and Convocation Center in Arlington Heights, Ill.
 
The 10
th-ranked Gray Wolves hit just .085 on the evening and committed 16 service errors in the setback.
 
Lourdes jumped on top in the opening set 8-5 before an 8-1 run by the Eagles put the hosts on top.  Robert Morris held a 22-17 lead before 
CJ Rilveria (Kula, Hawaii/Kekaulike H.S.) served up a 7-0 run to put Lourdes back in the lead, 24-22.  
Frank Craig (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood H.S.) put down the final kill to give the Gray Wolves the early lead in the match.
 
The Gray Wolves never trailed in set two, building a 2-0 lead in the contest.  A 10-3 run early in the set allowed Lourdes to take a commanding 15-7 lead, one they would not relinquish, as they would hold the Eagles to .000 hitting in the set.
 
Lourdes led 12-10 in the third stanza, looking to close out the match, but the hosts went on an 8-1 run to take the lead.  The Gray Wolves closed to within two, 22-20, but the Eagles extended the match with the 25-21 win.
 
Robert Morris never trailed in the fourth set, building an 18-12 lead.  Lourdes fought back, tying the set at 21, only to have the Eagles score four of the final five points to force a decisive fifth set.
 
Lourdes raced out to a 6-2 lead in the final set, only to see the Eagles tie it at 10.  Lourdes again forged ahead, and had a pair of match points up 14-12, but Robert Morris scored the final four points to earn the victory.
 
Craig led everyone with 17 kills for Lourdes while 
Jo'Lon Clark (Compton, Calif./Long Beach Poly H.S.) added 12 kills.  
Brad Miller (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) tallied 15 digs defensively while 
Ryan Ferkel (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly H.S.) handed out 45 assists to go along with 10 digs.
 
Julian Rivera (Bayamon, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) recorded 10 blocks for the Gray Wolves while Craig was in on nine.  Lourdes outblocked Robert Morris 16-11 for the match.
 
Trevor Butler led Robert Morris (5-10, 4-3 GLC) with 16 kills while Taylor Magorien tallied 15 kills and 15 digs.  The Eagles outdug Lourdes 65-51 for the night.
 
Lourdes (10-4, 5-2) will return to Great Lakes Conference play on Saturday evening, traveling to the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. to face Saint Xavier.  First serve is set for 5 p.m. EST.
