Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes University, ranked seventh in the latest NAIA national poll, opens its fourth season of men's collegiate volleyball season this weekend as the Gray Wolves host 10th-ranked Robert Morris (Ill.) in a Great Lakes Conference match.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his fourth season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball, Greg Reitz has a 48-28 (.632) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He was named to the MAMVIC East Coach of the Year in 2012 and the Great Lakes Conference Coach of the Year in 2014.  Reitz is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series against Robert Morris (Ill.) dating back to Jan. 28, 2012.  Last season the Gray Wolves won three of the four meetings between the two schools.  Lourdes posted a four-set win at home and defeated the Eagles in five sets at the Stritch Wolves Invitational.  Robert Morris earned a five-set win in Chicago before Lourdes rebounded with a four-set triumph in the Great Lakes Conference tournament semifinals.

Wrapping Up 2014: The Gray Wolves finished the 2014 campaign with a 17-7 record overall and earned a berth to the NAIA National Invitational for the first time in program history.  Lourdes posted an 8-2 record in the Great Lakes Conference, finishing second in the league standings before winning the conference tournament title. Jo'Lon Clark was named the GLC Player of the Year, the GLC Newcomer of the Year, was a AVCA All-American, and a First Team All-GLC selection.  Frank Craig, Chris Lockwood, and Brad Miller were each named Second Team selections with Miller also being named the league's Libero of the Year.

Scouting Robert Morris (Ill.): The Eagles are have started the season 3-0 following a three-set sweep against Calumet on Tuesday evening in their home opener.  Robert Morris moved into the top-10 this week for the first time in program history.  Colby Magorien has led the way for the Eagles with 30 kills and a .431 hitting percentage while Jimmy Dwyer has handed out 106 assists.  Stephen Hewitt has tallied a team-leading 30 digs while Taylor Magorien has posted a team-best 11 blocks.

A Historic Matchup for Lourdes: When Lourdes and Robert Morris take the floor on Friday.  The Gray Wolves will be facing a ranked opponent while ranked themselves for the first time in program history.

Highest Ranking Ever: Lourdes is ranked seventh in the latest NAIA Men's Volleyball poll, the highest ranking ever.  The Gray Wolves opened the year eighth in the preseason poll before moving up this week.  Lourdes was ranked as high as ninth in the team's inaugural 2012 season.

Facing Ranked Opponents: Lourdes is 5-25 all-time against teams ranked in the top-10  Last season the Gray Wolves posted a 2-5 mark against ranked foes.  Lourdes was credited with a win over #9 Missouri Valley after the Vikings forfeited the match for use of an ineligible player.  The Gray Wolves also swept #10 Cardinal Stritch in 2014.

Lourdes in Season Openers: The Gray Wolves are 2-1 all-time in their season openers.  Lourdes lost its inaugural match of the 2012 season 3-0 to #1 Saint Ambrose, but swept Robert Morris (Ill.) in three sets at home to begin the 2013 campaign.  Last season the Gray Wolves were 3-0 victors at Cincinnati Christian.

More on Openers: Lourdes is also 2-1 all-time in conference openers, as the Gray Wolves first match each season has been against a league foe.  The Gray Wolves are 2-1 in home openers as well.  Lourdes hosted Saint Ambrose and Robert Morris to begin the 2012 and 2013 seasons at home in season opening matches as well before opening up the 2014 home campaign with a victory over Siena Heights at Tam-o-Shanter.

Lots of Returnees: Lourdes returns 10 players from last year's roster which made the school's first appearance in the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational, including nine letterwinners.  Austin Stout was granted a redshirt season after being injured in the third match of the season.

New Faces: Lourdes has seven freshmen on its roster this season in addition to the 10 returnees.  Six will be battling for playing time throughout the season while Brendan Brown plans on sitting out the season as a redshirt.

The Great Lakes Conference: The Great Lake Conference has seen an expansion for the 2015 season.  In addition to returning members Cardinal Stritch, Cincinnati Christian, Lourdes, Robert Morris (Ill.), Siena Heights, and Saint Xavier, Calumet College of Saint Joseph and Trinity International have added the sport of men's volleyball and joined the league.

Captains Named: Lourdes has announced co-captains for the 2014 season.  Serving in that role are seniors Frank Craig and Brad Miller, both of whom served in the same role last year.

This and That: Jo'Lon Clark is Lourdes' top returnee in terms of kills from last season with 399 while hitting .254 ... Brad Miller registered 250 digs to lead Lourdes last year ... Frank Craig is the team's top returning blocker with 70 rejections one year ago ... Lourdes went five sets just four times in 2014, posting a 2-2 record ... the Gray Wolves are 11-7 all-time at Tam-o-Shanter.
