Photo GalleryZach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) scored a career-high 30 points on Saturday afternoon as Lourdes defeated Indiana Tech 68-65 at Tam-o-Shanter.
Steinemetz was 11-of-16 from the floor, including a three-pointer, and grabbed nine rebounds, just missing a double-double.

Lourdes took an early seven-point lead, 15-8, just over six minutes into the contest and extended the advantage to 12, 28-16, at the 8:10 mark following a three-pointer by
Brillon Pritchett (Gary, Ind./McAdams [Miss.] H.S.). The Gray Wolves led by as many as 13 before back-to-back three-pointers to end the half by Indiana Tech closed the gap to 43-36 at the break.
The Gray Wolves extended the lead back to 10, 52-42, five minutes into the final stanza before Indiana Tech went on a run. A 16-5 spurt over the next five minutes put the Warriors on top 58-57 with nine minutes remaining. Lourdes responded with nine straight points to retake the lead for good, capping the run with a triple by Steinmetz.
Indiana Tech again battled back, holding Lourdes without a field goal for the final 5:26 after the Steinmetz three, and closed the gap to one, 66-65 with a pair of free throw by Franklin Lindsey with 1:42 to play. Both teams came up empty on their next possession and Pritchett made a pair of free throws with 21 seconds remaining to increase the lead to three. Indiana Tech missed a three-point attempt with seven seconds left, but got the Gray Wolves to miss a free throw, giving the Warriors one last attempt. Chester McFadden's triple try at the buzzer missed the mark.
Pritchett finished with nine points and six rebounds while
Jake DuPree (Toledo, Ohio/Whiteford H.S.) and
E.J. Blackwell (Rochester, Pa./Rochester H.S.) finished with eight points each. All eight Gray Wolves that played found the scoring column.
"This was a good team win," Smith added. Jake managed the game well and the bench gave us some good effort."
Lourdes shot 49% from the floor for the game, but cooled off after shooting 58.6% over the first 20 minutes. The Gray Wolves also turned the ball over just five times.
Franklin Linsey and Arben Camaj led Indiana Tech (9-14, 6-9 WHAC) with 14 points each with Lindsey also pulling down 14 rebounds.
Lourdes (12-10, 8-6) will remain home on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves entertain #7 Cornerstone. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
