Â
"We had some errors at the wrong times that really seemed to cost us against Hope," head coach
Greg Reitz stated between matches. "That was the difference in the match."
Â
In the afternoon against Saint Ambrose (7-2), Clark hit .429 with 19 kills while Craig added 14 more kills. Rivera had 12 kills and
Amaury Miranda (Naranjito, P.R./Luis Munoz Marin H.S.) handed out 25 assists to go along with his team-leading 14 digs. The Gray Wolves hit .406 in the second set when they pulled out the victory, but were limited to -.067 hitting in the third.
Â
"We didn't step up to the challenge we had in front of us this weekend," Reitz added after the second match. "We didn't have enough players playing big roles at the same time. It was a lack of consistency across the board."
Â
Lourdes (3-4) will return home from its six-match road trip on Tuesday evening as the Gray Wolves return to Great Lakes Conference play. Lourdes will entertain Calumet in a 7 p.m. match at Tam-o-Shanter.
