Led by .390 hitting and 10 service aces, ninth-ranked Lourdes University snapped its four-match losing skid on Tuesday evening with a convincing 25-10, 25-11, 25-12 victory over Calumet College of Saint Joseph at Tam-o-Shanter.

Eric Ubior (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) led 16 Gray Wolves that saw action on the evening, tallying 10 kills while hitting .562.

"It's always nice to get the win, but tonight it was nice to get some guys playing time that haven't seen the court much thus far this season," head coach
Greg Reitz stated after the win. "Eric played really well in the outside role tonight."

Lourdes raced out to a 9-1 lead in the opening set and never looked back. The Gray Wolves hit .409 in the stanza while defensively held the Crimson Wave to a -.182 hitting percentage.Â

Steve Barcus (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon H.S.) served three straight aces as part of the run that put Lourdes on top for good 10-6 in set two while
Brad Miller (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) toed the service line at the end of the set as the Gray Wolves closed with six straight points.

Trailing 3-2 in the third set,
Evan Kinard (Las Vegas, Nev./Las Vegas H.S.) capped a 6-0 run with an ace, helping the Gray Wolves complete the sweep. Lourdes tallied 16 kills in the final set while hitting .414 as a team. The Gray Wolves also registered 10 aces.

On the night Lourdes hit .390 with 40 kills while limiting Calumet to -.031 hitting and 14 kills. Miller led all players with 12 digs while Barcus handed out 22 assists, tallied six digs, and finished with four aces.

Dominick Terry led Calumet (0-4, 0-3 GLC) with nine kills and a .304 hitting percentage while Liam Fagan recorded nine digs.

Lourdes (4-4, 3-0) will take to the road on Thursday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Trinity International. First serve is slated for 8 p.m. EST at the Meyer Sports Complex in Deerfield, Ill.
