Lourdes University's men's soccer team moved back to the .500 mark both overall and in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference after defeating Concordia (Mich.) 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Andre White (Montego Bay, Jamaica/Cornwall College), making his Gray Wolf debut, needed to make just one save in goal to earn the clean sheet victory as the Lourdes defense limited Concordia to just eight total shot attempts on the afternoon.
Aaron Davis (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) put Lourdes on the scoreboard in the 22
nd minute, heading home a corner kick from
Jake Kirchoff-Sleet (Tamworth, England/Queen Elizabeth's Mercian H.S.) for his second goal of the season.
Kirchoff-Sleet added a goal of his own to make it 2-0 Gray Wolves, banging home a rebound to give him the team's scoring lead with six goals and 15 points on the year.
Carlos Viganoni (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western H.S.) capped the scoring with just 3:07 remaining in the match, tallying an unassisted goal for his second of the year.
Lourdes outshot the Cardinals 20-8 for the day, and forced Concordia (0-13, 0-7 WHAC) netminder Jonathan Detwiler to make five stops in the loss. The Gray Wolves also held a 10-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
Lourdes (5-5, 3-3) will return home on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves entertain Indiana Tech. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
