Playing its final non-conference game of the season to close out the 2015 calendar year, Lourdes dropped a 71-47 road contest to Cincinnati Christian on Friday afternoon at Presidents Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Eagles made 11 three-pointers on the afternoon, shooting 47.8% from beyond the arc, and forced 25 Lourdes turnovers. Â The Gray Wolves connected at just a 31.6% clip on the afternoon while dropping their second straight game.

Cincinnati Christian (3-7) scored the game's first seven points and held the Gray Wolves without a field goal for the final 4:41 of the opening period in forging a 20-11 lead after 10 minutes.

"The first possession of the game summarized the entire game," head coach
Karen McConnell said. "They got four offensive rebounds and took advantage of the fifth shot of the possession."

The Eagles scored the final seven points of the first half to take a 37-20 lead into the locker room after again forcing Lourdes into a scoring drought. The Gray Wolves failed to score in the final 4:45 of the opening stanza.

A 12-2 run over the final 4:30 of the third quarter allowed the hosts to extend their lead to 29, 59-30, as Cincinnati Christian shot 69.2% from the floor in the period. The advantage grew to as many as 35 midway through the fourth quarter before Lourdes finished the contest on a 13-2 run to provide the game's final margin.

Niki Meyer (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center H.S.) led all players with 19 points for Lourdes, making 8-of-17 shots from the floor.Â
Jesse Fidler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) added 15 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

Aly Balser and Brianna Ruffin paced Cincinnati Christian with 12 points each while Macy Wingham and Kristin Rinehart added 11 points each for the Eagles.

Lourdes (4-10) will have two weeks off for the holidays before returning to the hardwood on Jan. 2. The Gray Wolves will host Madonna in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, tipping off at 1 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
