Eighth-ranked Lourdes University posted its fourth consecutive sweep on Tuesday evening and remained unbeaten in Great Lakes Conference play with a 25-22, 25-16, 25-18 victory over Siena Heights at Tam-o-Shanter.
 
The Gray Wolves hit .349 as a team with 40 kills on the evening and registered 10 blocks defensively.  Lourdes also tallied five service aces.
 
"We served well again tonight which has been key to our success," head coach Greg Reitz said after the match.  "To commit just 10 hitting errors in three sets is solid as well."
 
The Gray Wolves had to battle from behind in the opening set as Siena Heights jumped out to the early lead.  The Saints maintained a slim lead until a CJ Rilveria (Kula, Hawaii/Kekaulike H.S.) ace tied the set at 13.  A block by Austin Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) and Jo'Lon Clark (Compton, Calif./Long Beach Poly H.S.) put the Gray Wolves on top 15-14 as part of a 5-1 run and Lourdes would not trail again in the stanza.
 
Lourdes led the entire way in the second set, keyed by a 7-0 run with Bryan Downs (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon H.S.) on the service line.  The Gray Wolves led 13-6 after the run and gradually continued to increase the lead throughout the remainder of the set.
 
The Saints held an 8-6 advantage in the third before Lourdes went on a 5-1 run to take a lead in which they would not relinquish.  Siena Heights pulled to within two, 18-16 before a 6-1 run helped close out the match.
 
Frank Craig (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood H.S.) led the way for Lourdes with 12 kills and a .611 hitting percentage while Clark added nine kills and seven digs.  Sean Labriola (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot H.S.) was involved in seven blocks on the evening to help lead the defense.
 
"Frank had another outstanding match for us offensively," Reitz added.  "With only one error and 12 kills on 18 swings he was very effective."
 
Tyler Hubbard-Neil led Siena Heights (3-4, 3-3) with 16 kills and 11 digs while Gilius Blinstrubas added 10 kills.
 
Lourdes (7-4, 6-0) will continue its five-match homestand next Tuesday as the Gray Wolves host Cincinnati Christian to close out the first half of Great Lakes Conference play.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
