The ninth-ranked Lourdes University men's volleyball team registered its second straight sweep on Thursday evening as the Gray Wolves defeated Trinity International 25-16, 25-19, 25-9 at Van Dixhorn Arena in Deerfield,Ill.
 
Lourdes hit .565 for the match, including an incredible .789 in the third set, registering 16 kills on 19 swings.  
Jo'Lon Clark (Compton, Calif./Long Beach Poly H.S.) registered 11 kills on 15 swings for a .733 hitting percentage while 
Frank Craig (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood H.S.) added 11 kills on a .667 hitting mark.
 
"I thought we hit very efficiently tonight," head coach 
Greg Reitz said after the win.  "Jo'Lon had another outstanding match.  Defensively I thought we blocked some good balls as well.
 
Lourdes outblocked the Trojans for the match 6-1 and held Trinity International to just a .164 hitting mark for the night.
 
A 6-2 run early in the opening set and four straight points to close the set gave the Gray Wolves the early lead in the match.  Lourdes jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second and never trailed in the stanza.  
Brad Miller (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) served out the match in the third set as the Gray Wolves tallied the final eight points of the contest.
 
Amaury Miranda (Naranjito, P.R./Luis Munoz Marin H.S.) handed out 19 assists for the Gray Wolves while Lourdes tallied seven service aces as a team.  Miller had five digs to lead the defense while 
Austin Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) was involved in four blocks.
 
David Priest led Trinity International (0-4, 0-2 GLC) with 12 kills while David Swanson had five digs. 
 
Lourdes (5-4, 4-0) will close out its brief two-match road trip on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves face Cardinal Stritch.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. EST at Cardinal Field House in Milwaukee, Wis.
