Ninth-ranked Lourdes earned its third consecutive victory on Friday evening, moving to 5-0 in Great Lakes Conference play with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 victory on the road against Cardinal Stritch at the Cardinal Stritch Field House in Milwaukee, Wis.

Frank Craig (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood H.S.) tallied 12 kills on 15 swings, hitting .800 for the match to pace the Gray Wolves, which hit .429 for the match. Lourdes committed just eight errors while tallying 44 kills.

"We played very well tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We started a little shaky on serve receive, but we steadied that out as the match went along. Having only eight errors in three sets is a pretty solid performance.  Frank was literally unstoppable tonight."

Lourdes had to rally in the opening set after trailing most of the way. The Gray Wolves were down 22-19 before closing the set on a 6-0 run behind the service of
Jo'Lon Clark (Compton, Calif./Long Beach Poly H.S.).

The Gray Wolves ended the second set with a big run as well. The set was tied at 13 before Lourdes scored 12 of the final 17 points to take a 2-0 lead in the match.Â

In the third set, Lourdes gradually pulled away. Leading 4-3, the Gray Wolves went on a 12-6 run to take a 16-9, essentially putting the match out of reach.

Clark and
Julian Rivera (Bayamon, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) each tallied nine kills in the win while
Amaury Miranda (Naranjito, P.R./Luis Munoz Marin H.S.) handed out 20 assists and
Steve Barcus (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon H.S.) added 19 more helpers. Lourdes did not allow Cardinal Stritch to register a single block in the match.

CJ Rilveria (Kula,Hawaii/Kekaulike H.S.) tallied 13 digs and
Brad Miller (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) added 10 more.Â

Jason Bowles led Cardinal Stritch (5-6, 1-1 GLC) with nine kills while Patrick Ronan tallied eight digs for the Wolves.

Lourdes (6-4, 5-0) will return home to Tam-o-Shanter on Tuesday evening to begin a five-match homestand. The Gray Wolves will entertain Siena Heights in Great Lakes Conference play with the first serve set for 7 p.m.
