Lourdes wrapped up its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series of the season on Saturday afternoon, dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Siena Heights by scores of 7-0 and 12-3 at the SHU Baseball Diamond in Adrian, Mich.

Thomas McCarter tossed a complete game three-hitter in the opener for the Saints, walking just two and striking out three to earn the victory (1-2).

Siena Heights scored five times in the opening inning, scoring all five runs before the Gray Wolves registered an out. The Saints would tack on single runs in the second and fourth innings to complete the scoring.

Lourdes put runners on second and third with one out in the first and failed to score, and did not have two base runners in an inning again until the ninth when they tallied a walk and a single with two outs.

Nate Snow (Tucson, Ariz./Palo Verde H.S.) suffered the loss (0-2), surrendering four earned runs and four hits in the opening inning.

In game two Siena Heights manufactured a run in the third to take the lead before Lourdes finally found the scoreboard in the fifth.Â
Tyler Trame (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) led off with a triple and scored when
Kyle Sherman (Colierville, Tenn./Rossville H.S.) reached on an error. A single and hit batsman loaded the bases and
Nick Toth (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson H.S.) gave the Gray Wolves the lead with a single to right field.Â
Andy Kefalos (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton H.S.) followed with a fielder's choice to plate
Jonathan Barker (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.), giving Lourdes a 3-1 lead.

The Saints wasted little time responding, scoring eight times in the fifth inning. They took advantage of four walks in the inning while sending 13 batters to the plate. Siena Heights (7-9, 3-3 WHAC) batted around again in the sixth while tallying three runs to complete the scoring.

Toth went 3-for-4 to pace Lourdes eight-hit effort in the nightcap while Drew Milligan went 4-for-4 with four runs batted in to lead the Saints.

Kyle Burkholder earned the win (2-2), allowing two earned runs and five hits in five innings of work.Â
Ryan Veres (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.) suffered the loss (0-1) out of the bullpen, as he walked three which led to three runs.

Lourdes (5-11, 1-3) will continue its 10-game road trip on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. for a doubleheader against Indiana Tech. First pitch in game one is set for 3 p.m. at Warrior Field.Â
