Upcoming in Gray Wolves Lacrosse: Lourdes continues Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday as the Gray Wolves host sixth-ranked Lawrence Tech in Brighton, Mich. The Gray Wolves return to the road on Saturday for a matinee a third-ranked Indiana Tech before stepping out of league play on Sunday to travel to Walsh.
Head Coach Paul Sieben: In his second season on the Lourdes bench,
Paul Sieben has a 3-20 (.130) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves and as a collegiate head coach. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes is 0-3 all-time against Lawrence Tech dating back to March 25, 2014. The Blue Devils won the first meeting between the two schools this season 14-13 on Feb. 25 at Detroit Country Day School. Indiana Tech holds a 4-0 all-time advantage over Lourdes dating back to March 5, 2014 after the Warriors posted a 20-6 win earlier this year on March 4 at the Legacy Center. Walsh won the only previous meeting between the two schools, a 16-9 decision in North Canton, Ohio on March 21, 2014. Wrapping Up Last Week: Davenport used a 9-1 run spanning both halves to take control on Wednesday on the way to defeating the Gray Wolves 18-5.Â
Faith Fisher scored three times for Lourdes in the loss. On Friday, Lourdes led by one with under nine minutes remaining, but Siena Heights rallied to score a 10-9 win over the Gray Wolves.Â
Alyssa Long tallied five goals for Lourdes in the setback.
Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have dropped three straight games following a 19-10 setback at Davenport on Saturday. Alyssa Shaver leads Lawrence Tech with 40 goals and 44 total points while Ashley Collins has added 34 goals and 42 total points. Marie Klonowski sports a 13.73 goals against average and a .422 save percentage in the cage.
Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors have won two of their last three games after defeating Reinhardt 15-9 on the road Saturday. Indiana Tech hosts Robert Morris (Ill.) on Wednesday before entertaining Lourdes. Alexa Winter leads Indiana Tech with 29 goals and 34 points while Alexis DiGiovanni has handed out 18 assists and has 29 total points. In goal, Meaghan Eldrige has played the majority of the minutes, posting an 11.66 GAA and a .467 save percentage.
Scouting Walsh: The Cavaliers had their two-game win streak snapped on Saturday with an 11-8 loss at West Virginia Wesleyan. Walsh heads to Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday and hosts Calvin on Friday before entertaining Lourdes. Maria Nobile leads the Cavaliers with 12 goals and 16 points while Aly Jajack and Emma Armour each have nine goals. Between the posts, Tia Tyler sports an 11.96 GAA and a .458 save percentage.
Schiel Wins the Draws: Kelsey Schiel has recorded 18 draw controls this season for the Gray Wolves, leading the team.Â
Alyssa Long also has double figure draw controls with 11 thus far this year.
Trio Pace the Offense: Alyssa Long leads the Gray Wolves in scoring with 23 goals on the season, accounting for just over a third of the team's offense.Â
