Photo GalleryLourdes needed less than an hour to win its school-record eighth consecutive match on Friday evening as the ninth-ranked Gray Wolves defeated Trinity International 25-12, 25-11, 25-15 at Tam-o-Shanter to remain unbeaten in Great Lakes Conference play.

"I thought we played well tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We were consistent which is what we need to do. We got some guys on the court tonight that haven't played a great deal. We also had some outstanding performances."

Jo'Lon Clark (Compton, Calif./Long Beach Poly H.S.) was perfect offensively, hitting 1.000 with 11 kills on his 11 swings.Â
Frank Craig (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood H.S.) added a team-high 12 kills while hitting .500 for the Gray Wolves, which hit .507 for the match as a team.Â

Brad Miller (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) tallied 15 digs in the three set win while
Ryan Ferkel (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly H.S.),
Steve Barcus (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon H.S.), and
Amaury Miranda (Naranjito, P.R./Luis Munoz Marin H.S.) each handed out double figure assist totals.

An early 8-1 run in the opening set put Lourdes in front for good and the Gray Wolves added a 6-0 spurt late to take the early lead in the match behind .591 hitting offensively. In the second set the hosts went on a 6-0 run to build a 12-4 lead and then scored the final six points of the stanza to take a 2-0 lead in the contest. Lourdes hit .632 in the second with just one error. In the final set, an 8-1 run gave the Gray Wolves a 13-5 lead on the way to completing the sweep.

David Priest led Trinity International (0-12, 0-9 GLC) with 12 kills while Kevin Montelongo tallied a team-high seven digs.

Lourdes (11-4, 9-0) will return to action on Saturday with a pair of matches at Presidents Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Gray Wolves will face eighth-ranked Saint Ambrose at 1 p.m. with a Great Lakes Conference match against Cincinnati Christian to follow at 3 p.m.
