Lourdes rebounded from a 2-0 loss in game one on Sunday afternoon to defeat Concordia (Mich.) in the nightcap 6-2 at Cardinal Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.

A.J. Schraffenberger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick H.S.) went the distance in game two for the complete game victory (1-1), allowing just five hits without walking anyone.Â

Garrett Jex (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green H.S.) singled home
Kyle Sherman (Collierville, Tenn./Rossville H.S.) and
Bill Laranga (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee H.S. in the top of the fifth to put the Gray Wolves in front. Concordia responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning with two runs on a fielder's choice.

Sherman put Lourdes in front for good in the sixth with a one-out single that plated
Marty Ramirez (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.). The Gray Wolves added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh on a RBI ground out by
Tyler Trame (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) as well as an error by Concordia.

Ramirez went 2-for-3 while scoring twice in the win as Lourdes managed seven hits in the contest. Ryan Bosanac suffered the loss (1-6) for the Cardinals, allowing three runs, two of which were earned, in 5.1 innings on the hill.

"It was a good team win in the second game," head coach
Andy Ham said. "A.J. did a great job battling. We extended the lead and got key hits which we haven't been doing."

The Lourdes win snapped Concordia's (16-24, 9-11 WHAC) 10-game winning streak.

In the opener, Concordia scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings which were enough for Cody Harrison to earn the complete game shutout (4-2). He overcame six walks by surrendering just five hits in the win.

Drew Lepiarz (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.) also tossed a complete game for Lourdes, striking out nine while allowing two runs on five hits in a losing effort (2-3).

"Drew pitched a great game one," Ham added. "It's too bad we couldn't get him the win."

Lourdes (9-24, 5-14) will return to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Fort Wayne, Ind. to battle Indiana Tech. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m. at Warrior Field.
