Lourdes remained unbeaten on Saturday afternoon, setting several milestones in the process as the Gray Wolves defeated Aquinas 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 15-12 at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.

In the process, the Gray Wolves extended their school record win streak to nine consecutive matches, continued the best start in program history, and remained one of just nine remaining undefeated teams in NAIA volleyball. The win also marked Lourdes first victory ever against the Saints.

"It was a great win for us," head coach
Greg Reitz stated afterwards. "Aquinas played really well. They pushed us a lot and we had to respond. It was a loud environment and a very good win on the road for us, especially having to travel after a tough match last night."

Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) tied a school record with 24 kills in the match, one of five Gray Wolves to tally double figure kill totals. Ruffing matched
Stephanie Richards' (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) mark set on Oct. 18, 2014 at Siena Heights, hitting .375 in the process.

Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) shattered the single match assist record, handing out 72 helpers. She bettered the previous mark of 57 set by Allegra Recknagel set on Oct. 12, 2013 against Rio Grande.Â
Michi Jimenez (Vega Baja, P.R./Juan Quirindongo Morell H.S.) tallied 33 digs as well for the Gray Wolves, the second highest match total in program history.

Lourdes hit .296 as a team for the match, including a blistering .640 in the third set, tallying 17 kills against just one error on only 25 swings.

Four Gray Wolves notched double-doubles on the afternoon, led by Ruffing with 24 kills and 16 digs and Birr with the 72 assists and 11 digs.Â
Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) posted 13 kills and 17 digs while Richards added 11 kills and 12 digs on the afternoon.

Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) added 18 kills and hit .424 while
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame H.S.) added 11 kills while swinging at a .409 clip.

Michaela Ryan led Aquinas (5-4, 1-3 WHAC) with 12 kills while Anna Fencil tallied 21 digs.

Lourdes (9-0, 4-0) will look to remain atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and remain unbeaten on Wednesday evening, traveling to Concordia (Mich.). First serve at Cardinal Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m.
