Photo GalleryAaron Davis (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) headed home a corner kick with just 4:47 remaining in regulation to give Lourdes its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory in program history as the Gray Wolves defeated Lawrence Tech 1-0 on Wednesday evening at Wildcat Stadium.
Â
"It's exciting for us to get that first conference win," head coach
Barry Spitzer stated afterwards. "More importantly, we got three needed points at home. We're still young and growing, and today we were able to find a way to win."
Â
With the match scoreless, Lourdes took advantage of the corner kick opportunity, and
Jake Kirchoff-Sleet (Tamworth-England/Queen Elizabeth's Mercian H.S.) floated a corner to the near post which Davis was able to get a head on for his first collegiate goal.

Lourdes outshot Lawrence Tech 12-7 on the evening, with both teams managing just three shots on frame. Both the Gray Wolves and Blue Devils had opportunities hit the cross bar early in the match however.
Â
Jose Cedillo (Atlanta, Ga./Norcross H.S.) made three saves in goal to earn the first shutout in program history. Joey Knoff made two stops for Lawrence Tech (4-4-1, 0-1-1 WHAC) in the setback.
Â
Lourdes (3-3, 1-1) will take to the road on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Brighton, Mich. to face Michigan-Dearborn. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. at the Legacy Center.
