Lourdes picked up its 14
th consecutive victory on Wednesday evening to remain tied atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, downing Indiana Tech in straight sets 25-22, 27-25, 25-16 at the Schaefer Center Gym in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The victory was the fifth straight sweep for the Gray Wolves, who remain undefeated on the year. Lourdes has now won 16 consecutive sets as well, having dropped just six all season long.

"This was another big road win for us," head coach
Greg Reitz announced. "We had some good performances tonight, but not great ones. We were pushed hard and had to battle in both of the first two sets."

Lourdes hit .306 in the opening stanza and needed a late run to earn the win. The set was tied at 18 before Lourdes tallied seven of the final 11 points.Â

In the second set, the Gray Wolves were behind nearly the entire set, trailing 23-18, before a late run.Â
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame H.S.) spearheaded a 5-0 run at the service line to tie the contest, registering a pair of aces. With the set tied at 25,
Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) tallied a block followed by a kill from
Stephanie Richards (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) to put Lourdes on top 2-0.

In the third,
Carolyn Manley (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S) started the set with a pair of service aces as Lourdes built a lead, and the Gray Wolves never trailed on the way to completing the sweep.Â

Richards led Lourdes offensively hitting .241 with 11 kills while
Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) and
Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) each added 10 kills. Shonk had a double-double with 11 digs as well.

Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 29 assists for the Gray Wolves while defensively
Michi Jimenez (Vega Baja, P.R./Juan Quirindongo Morell H.S.) tallied a team-leading 29 digs.

Cassie Sarabia led Indiana Tech (10-7, 6-3 WHAC) with 11 kills while Taylor Kelso tallied 20 digs.

Lourdes (14-0, 9-0) will remain on the road Friday evening, traveling to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face Davenport. Opening serve is set for 7 p.m. at the DU Student Center.
