Lourdes trailed 16
th-ranked team in NAIA Division II by just three points at the half, but Lawrence Tech limited the Gray Wolves to just 14 points over the final 20 minutes in a 63-48 Blue Devils' victory on Saturday afternoon at Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.

The Gray Wolves shot 48.4% in the first half, and after trailing 20-12 after the opening period, closed to within 37-34 at the break.Â
Lindsey Motycka (Convoy, Ohio/Crestview H.S.) scored all 14 of her points in the first half on 6-of-9 shooting, but the freshman was held scoreless after the break.

"I felt like we outworked them for three quarters," head coach
Karen McConnell said afterwards. "We did a good job of battling back after getting behind after one quarter."

Lawrence Tech extended its lead to six, 49-43, after three quarters, but held the Gray Wolves to just five points in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory. Lourdes shot just 23.8% from the floor after halftime, and finished the game making just 6-of-12 (50%) attempts from the free throw line.

"They went to a 1-2-2 zone and we got stagnant offensively in the second half," McConnell added.

Motycka led the Gray Wolves in scoring while
Jesse Fidler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.Â
Molea Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison H.S.) contributed 11 points off of the bench.

Hali Butler led Lawrence Tech (17-2, 14-2 WHAC) with 15 points and nine rebounds as the Blue Devils outboarded Lourdes 40-30 for the night. Allison Kitchen chipped in 13 points while Nichole Buckingham added 10 points for the hosts.

Lourdes (6-17, 3-13) will return home to Tam-o-Shanter on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Concordia (Mich.). Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
