For the fifth straight match Lourdes needed just three sets to register a victory on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves ran their winning streak to 12 consecutive contests overall with a 25-21, 25-12, 25-22 victory over Siena Heights at the SHU Fieldhouse in Adrian, Mich.

Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) led the Gray Wolves with 11 kills on just 15 swings for a .733 hitting percentage and Lourdes hit .230 on the night as a team.Â

"We played well enough to get the win," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We made a few too many errors in the final set which kept it close, but we were able to hold on for the win. We played sound defense throughout the match."

Lourdes held Siena Heights to just .087 hitting for the night and outdug the Saints 64-43.Â
Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) had a match-high 15 digs for the Gray Wolves while
Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) added 12 digs and
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) added 11 more. Ruffing and Shonk each added nine kills offensively as well.

Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 37 assists for the Gray Wolves while
Lexie Curtis (Toledo, Ohio/Bedford H.S.) registered four service aces.

The opening set was tight, with 14 ties and four lead changes. Tied at 21, Lourdes managed to tally four straight kills, two by
Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) and two from Ruffing to earn the victory. The Gray Wolves hit .367 with just three errors in the second while holding Siena Heights to just four kills and a -.065 hitting mark while cruising to the win. The third was tight like the opening set, with Lourdes trailing 19-18, before four straight kills put the Gray Wolves in front for good.

Paige Hudgin led Siena Heights (15-6, 6-4 WHAC) with seven kills and 11 digs.

Lourdes (17-3, 11-0) returns home next Wednesday to begin the final homestand of the 2016 regular season. The Gray Wolves host Concordia (Mich.) in a 7 p.m. contest at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
