Ninth-ranked Lourdes ran its winning streak to 13 consecutive matches, and remained undefeated at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-12 victory over Concordia (Mich.) on Wednesday night.
Â
"I thought we played a clean match tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We had a lot more intensity here at home than when we played at their place. Our defense was much better as well, holding them to a lower hitting percentage than in the first match."
Â
The Gray Wolves limited the Cardinals to -.044 hitting on the evening, as Concordia tallied just 17 kills while making 21 errors. Offensively, Lourdes hit .356 as a team, led by

Â
"Ave just lit it up tonight," Reitz added.
Â
Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 35 assists, including nine to
Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) and eight to
Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.). Shonk hit .471 without any errors, while
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) did the same, swinging at a .462 clip with seven kills. Ruffing also had three service aces.
Â
Defensively,
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) recorded 12 digs while Ruffing had 11 more. Ruffing also was involved in five blocks and Stout had three rejections.
