Four goals in a 22-minute span during the second half broke open a tight match as sixth-ranked Northwestern Ohio notched a 5-0 shutout of Lourdes on Saturday evening at Wildcat Stadium.

Fernando Rizo put the Racers on the scoreboard with 12:19 remaining in the first half, taking a cross from Pepe Cejudo and finding the back of the net.

The Gray Wolves kept the match at a one goal deficit heading into intermission, despite being outshot 8-3 in the opening 45 minutes.
Carlos Garces Suarez started a flurry of second half goals for the Racers with under 37 minutes remaining, scoring on a free kick from around 30 yards out. Nelson De La Pava received a feed from Carlos Monterrey and scored at the 67:51 mark before Monterrey tallied a goal of his own less than three minutes later on a penalty kick. Pepe Cejudo closed out the scoring with 14:58 to play in the contest, finding the back of the net from inside of the box.

Northwestern Ohio (10-1-3, 6-0-1 WHAC) outshot Lourdes 22-5 for the match, including 9-2 in shots on frame.Â
Josh Patta (Wolfsburg, Germany/Hulebacksgymnasiet H.S.) was the only Gray Wolf with more than one shot attempt, and also had one of the two shots on goal. The Racers also held an 8-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Jose Cedillo (Atlanta, Ga./Norcross H.S.) made four saves in goal for Lourdes while Nikola Kahvedzic made two stops for the Racers in earning the clean sheet.

Lourdes (6-4-1, 1-4-1) will close out its four-match homestand on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
