The ninth-ranked Lourdes volleyball team finished play at the Boneyard Brawl in Georgetown, Ky. on Saturday, defeating Campbellsville 25-15, 19-25, 25-19, 25-17 and eighth-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-13.

The Gray Wolves hit .226 in the first match of the day, registered seven aces while committing just six service errors, recorded nine blocks, and tallied 84 digs in the victory over Campbellsville (23-10).

"This was a good win for us against a quality opponent," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We played consistently and had some strong attackers. It was a sound match for us in service as well as in serve receive."

Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) and
Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with double-doubles. Shonk had 14 kills and 15 digs while Birr handed out 42 assists and recorded 13 digs.Â
Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) tallied 11 kills and hit .375.

Defensively,
Kristin Murrell (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) tallied 22 digs while
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) added 13 more.Â
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) was in on five blocks.

In the final match of the tournament, Lourdes rebounded from dropping the opening set to hold the eighth-ranked hosts to just .028 hitting for the match, including negative hitting marks in both the third and fourth sets.

"This was a great win for us to finish the weekend strong with a 3-1 record," Reitz added. "We played at a high level and had a great team performance to earn the victory. We fought through adversity and were a team throughout which was great."

Shonk and Birr again had double-doubles as did
Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.). Shonk had 16 kills and 15 digs while Birr had 40 assists and 13 digs to go along with six kills. Ruffing added 10 kills and 14 digs.

Dippold recorded a career-high 31 digs while Comte had 10 more. Stout registered 10 kills for the Gray Wolves in the win.

Lourdes hit just .150, but outdug the Tigers 101-86 for the match, forcing 31 attack errors.

Jessica Tapp and Ashlee Howe led Georgetown (26-6) with eight kills each while Jenny Howell had 21 digs.

Lourdes (23-5) will close out the regular season on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Davenport looking for at least a share of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season title. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the DU Student Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.
