No. 10 Lourdes improved to 10-0 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference while winning its 33
rd consecutive regular season league contest on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves swept Northwestern Ohio 25-18, 25-10, 25-19 at Racer Gymnasium in Lima, Ohio.

"We hit very efficiently tonight, limiting errors," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "To commit just nine attack errors in three sets is where we want to be. I thought our defense did a good job and we served aggressively enough to be able to take advantage."

The Gray Wolves hit .404 on the night with 47 kills in the three stanzas while holding the Racers to just a .051 clip for the night. Lourdes outdug Northwestern Ohio 44-34 to make up for being outblocked 6-5 and a 3-2 deficit in service aces.

Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) led Lourdes with her eighth double-double of the season, and fourth straight. The senior tallied 12 kills and 21 digs while hitting .524, committing just one error in 21 swings.

"Molly had another solid match both hitting and defensively," Reitz added.

Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) added 13 kills and hit .407 on the night while
Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 40 assists for the second straight night.

Lourdes tallied 17 kills in the opening set and hit a blistering .583 with just one attack error in set two while holding the Racers to .000 and -.061 hitting in the first two stanzas. The third set had seven ties and three lead changes before the Gray Wolves used a 9-3 run to take the lead for good after trailing 15-14.

Megan Richwine and Leah Hofmann led Northwestern Ohio (10-14, 2-7 WHAC) with eight kills each while Taina' Soranzo tallied 12 digs to lead the Racer defense.

Lourdes (16-3, 10-0), winners of 11 straight matches, returns to action on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves head to Siena Heights. First serve at the SHU Fieldhouse is set for 7:30 p.m.
