Two first quarter points were tough to overcome on Saturday afternoon for Lourdes, as the Gray Wolves suffered a 90-61 setback to 21
st-ranked Indiana Tech at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Indiana Tech scored the final 17 points of the opening period, holding Lourdes scoreless for the final eight minutes of the period, while jumping out to a 22-2 lead. The Gray Wolves made just 1-of-14 (7.1%) shots from the floor and committed seven turnovers in the opening 10 minutes.

"Today we had an extremely slow start and couldn't overcome the deficit we put ourselves in defensively in the first quarter," head coach
Summer Quesenberry said afterwards. "Game preparation and player readiness will be reiterated this week as we refocus our efforts in becoming a stronger team and a tougher, more competitive program."

The Warriors shot the ball extremely well in the second, making 10-of-13 (76.9%) shots from the floor, including 4-of-5 from three-point range, extending their lead to 25, 46-21, at the break. Indiana Tech led by as many as 32 in the third period, before taking a 27-point advantage in the final stanza.

Lourdes was able to cut its deficit down to 22 after a three-pointer by
Kalena Harris (Toledo, Ohio/Maumee H.S.) and a three-point play by
Elayna Ackerman (Fremont, Ohio/Ross H.S.) with just over six minutes to play, but Indiana Tech scored the next eight points to put the game out of reach.

Jesse Fidler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) led Lourdes with 13 points while
Molea Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison H.S.) added 11 points. Ackerman and Harris each had nine points, with Ackerman also pulling down a team-high nine rebounds.

Keanna Gary had a double-double for Indiana Tech (11-1, 6-1 WHAC), scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 boards. Haley Cook also tallied 22 points for the Warriors, which had four players finish in double figures.

Lourdes (4-9, 3-4) will step out of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening to battle Cincinnati Christian. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Presidents Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio.
