Lourdes was unable to recover from a 13-point halftime deficit on Saturday, as the Gray Wolves dropped a 78-68 contest to Marygrove at the Northwest Activities Center in Detroit, Mich.
 
With the Gray Wolves leading by one five minutes into the game, Marygrove went on a 29-13 run over 10 minutes to take a 32-22 lead with six minutes to play in the first half.  The Mustangs would take a 43-30 lead into the locker room after connecting on all 12 of its free throw attempts in the stanza.
 
Lourdes was able to cut the deficit to single digits just once in the second half, 55-46, with 13 minutes to play, but the Mustangs responded with 10 of the next 14 points.  The Mustangs would lead by as many as 18 with under three minutes remaining before a late 12-4 Gray Wolf run provided the final margin.
 
Desmond Frazier (Ocala, Fla./Dunnellon H.S.) led Lourdes with 17 points while Hamish Abbott (Melbourne, Australia/Rowville Secondary H.S.) added 15 points off of the bench.  Najeeb Johnson (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland H.S.) chipped in 14 points for the Gray Wolves, as the team shot 44.3% from the floor.  Lourdes also committed just nine turnovers in the contest.
 
Nate Taylor led Marygrove (2-10, 1-4 WHAC) with 23 points, going 10-for-10 from the free throw line, while grabbing 12 rebounds for a double-double.  The Mustangs finished the night with a 41-26 edge on the boards.  Isaac Gillum added 16 points for a team that shot 44.4% from the floor but made 24-of-27 free throws on the afternoon.
 
Lourdes (2-9, 1-4) will begin a four-game homestand on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves welcome second-ranked Cornerstone to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
