In a battle of the two remaining unbeaten teams in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's West Division, 12
th-ranked Lourdes needed just 65 minutes to defeat Cornerstone 25-13, 25-22, 25-17 at the Russel J. Ebeid Recreation Center to move to 6-0 in league play.

Lourdes hit .364 for the match, registered nine service aces, outdug the Golden Eagles 52-37, and outblocked the visitors 4-3 in winning for the sixth straight time and 10
th match in the last 11 outings.

"We passed well enough to hit efficiently," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We played sound defense with 52 digs in three sets and blocked well. Our outsides stepped up their attacking effectiveness and we served very aggressive with our ace-to-error ratio.

The Gray Wolves racked up 16 kills while hitting .342 in the opening set and increased the production to 17 kills and a .382 attack percentage in the second. Lourdes hit .370 in the final stanza on the way to 46 total kills on the night.

Lourdes held Cornerstone to just .162 hitting for the night, including a .289 clip with 16 kills in the second, as the Golden Eagles were held under .100 in both the first and third stanzas.

Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) and
Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) each registered double-doubles on the evening. Ruffing had 13 kills while hitting .360 and recorded 12 digs while Shonk had 10 kills and 10 digs while hitting .375.Â
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) and
Genessee Tate (West Covina, Calif./West Covina H.S.) added eight kills each while
Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 35 assists.

Defensively,
Carolyn Manley (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) recorded 12 digs while
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) had eight more. Tate registered three blocks.

Heather Green led Cornerstone (10-7, 4-1 WHAC) with 14 kills while Kendra Zwart added 10 kills and hit .444. Madison Herrema had a team-high 11 digs.

Lourdes (11-3, 6-0) will now have a week off before returning to action next Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves face Aquinas. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.
