Lourdes ran its overall winning streak to eight straight matches while winning its 30
th consecutive regular season Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season match on Friday evening with a 25-23, 25-17, 25-11 victory over Indiana Tech at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The 12
th-ranked Gray Wolves used 12 blocks and eight service aces to lead the way while holding the Warriors to just .009 hitting on the night after forcing 28 Indiana Tech attack errors.

"We really focused on blocking this week and it showed," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the win. "This was our best blocking performance yet. We also served pretty well. Indiana Tech played solid defense which challenged our attack to find different spots from what we've been used to."

Ave Stout (Huntertown, Ind./Bishop Luers H.S.) was involved in seven of the team's blocks, including four of the solo variety while hitting a team-high .444 for the night.Â
Carolyn Manley (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) had four service aces, including three straight late in the third set.

The opening set had eight ties and three lead changes, with the Gray Wolves taking the lead for good with a 7-1 run which made it 18-12 Lourdes. In the second set, Lourdes jumped out to an early 13-5 lead following an 11-1 run behind the service of
Stephanie Ruffing (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty H.S.) and
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy). In the final set, Lourdes forced 12 Warrior attack errors as Indiana Tech hit -.235 in the stanza while Lourdes hit a sizzling .308 with just two miscues. The Gray Wolves closed the match on an 11-2 run.

Molly Shonk (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley H.S.) led Lourdes with nine kills while
Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) handed out 27 assists. Dippold had a team-high 14 digs defensively.

Cassie Sarabia and Paige Doellman led Indiana Tech (14-7, 4-3 WHAC) with eight kills each while Taylor Kelso had 25 digs defensively.

Lourdes (13-3, 8-0) will remain home on Saturday evening, stepping out of conference play to host Bethel (Ind.). First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
