Final Results

Lourdes returned to dual meet competition on Wednesday evening, but suffered a 52-0 loss to Ashland inside of Kates Gymnasium in Ashland, Ohio.
 
"Unfortunately we ran into a well-oiled machine tonight," head coach Dock Kelly III said afterwards.  "Ashland is a top-15 NCAA Division II program, and they certainly showed us why tonight.  Although the scoreboard won't reflect it, several of our guys fought hard for seven minutes."
 
The Eagles earned victories at all 10 weight classes, posting a pair of falls and six technical falls.  Ashland (3-2), ranked 13^th in the latest Division II poll, also won the 174-pound weight class by forfeit.  Flynn Hamilton (Tucker, Ga./Tucker H.S.) had the Gray Wolves' tightest result, suffering a 16-3 major decision setback in the 149-pound class.
 
"We'll continue to build off of the positives and we will be ready for our regional opponent Davenport next week," Kelly concluded.
 
Lourdes (1-8) will return to the mats on Tuesday evening with a trip to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face Davenport.  The opening bout is set for 7 p.m. at the DU Student Center.
