Final Results

Lourdes returned to the mat on Tuesday evening, but suffered a 45-6 setback to Davenport at the DU Student Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.
 
The match started in a positive manner for the Gray Wolves, as Ray Porter (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville H.S.) was awarded a victory via forfeit in the 125-pound weight class.  Tyler Roberts (Hudson, Mich./Hudson H.S.) followed with a tight match at 133 pounds, falling by decision 8-7.
 
After the Panthers recorded a fall at 141 pounds, Flynn Hamilton (Tucker, Ga../Tucker H.S.) battled to the end for the Gray Wolves at 149 pounds, only to be defeated by decision 3-0.
 
Davenport (6-6) took control as the weight classes increased, registering three more falls, a forfeit victory at 167 pounds, a technical fall, and a major decision to close out the match.
 
"I'm disappointed with our overall effort tonight," head coach Dock Kelly III said after the match.  "We came out flat and did not look prepared to wrestle.  This was a critical regional match and there was simply no sense of urgency on our part.  We must have a short memory and get prepared for another regional opponent on Friday.  We will definitely rely on our home crowd to fuel our effort."
 
Lourdes (1-9) will return home for its next two dual matches beginning on Friday when the Gray Wolves welcome Calumet to the Franciscan Center Gym.  The opening bout is set for 6 p.m.
