Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes returns to the court for its home opener on Wednesday hosting Siena Heights. The Gray Wolves then face Missouri Baptist and Hope International in the Moulten Invitational before battling Benedictine at Mesa and Culver-Stockton on Saturday.
On the Air: The match against Siena Heights will be broadcast tape-delayed on BCSN on Buckeye Cablesystem. The game will air on BCSN at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday and 3:30 a.m. on Friday. In addition, BCSN2 will show the match on Thursday at 12:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Friday at 6:30 a.m., and Monday at 2 a.m.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his sixth season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball,
Greg Reitz has a 95-43 (.688) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. He was named to the MAMVIC East Coach of the Year in 2012 and the Great Lakes Conference Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015 while earning Mideast Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2016. Reitz is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes leads the all-time series against Siena Heights 16-0 dating back to Feb. 14, 2012. The Gray Wolves won all four meetings against the Saints last season, including the championship of the Mideast Conference tournament. Missouri Baptist is 4-0 all-time against Lourdes dating back to March 2, 2013. The Spartans defeated the Gray Wolves in five sets last year in the NAIA National Invitational. Hope International won the only previous meeting against Lourdes in four sets on Jan. 31, 2015. Lourdes has never met Benedictine at Mesa. Lourdes is 2-0 against Culver-Stockton dating back to March 11, 2014 and scored a four-set win in the last meeting back in 2015.

Wrapping Up Last Week (or Two Weeks Ago): Lourdes opened the season on Jan. 18 with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-21 victory at Lawrence Tech.Â
Zachary Hawkins tallied nine kills and
CJ Rilveria had 16 digs. On Jan. 20 the Gray Wolves scored a 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 win at Saint Ambrose.Â
Ryan Maune hit .500 with 10 kills and Rilveria added 16 digs. The Gray Wolves fell at Clarke 17-25, 27-25, 28-26, 25-19 on Jan. 21. Maune recorded 17 kills in the setback.
Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints remained unbeaten following wins over Saint Andrews and Campbellsville on Saturday. Matthew Dugan leads the team with 59 kills and is hitting .298 while Keegan Crawford has handed out 155 assists. Emilier DeJesus has a team-high 68 digs and Julian Ayers has 13 blocks.
Scouting Missouri Baptist: The Spartans have won four straight matches after sweeping Briar Cliff on Saturday. Mico Janicijevic is hitting .347 with 69 kills while Robert Hall has a team-high 64 digs.
Scouting Hope International: The Royals have dropped three straight matches after falling in five sets at UC-Sand Diego on Saturday, but will play three more matches before facing Lourdes. Max Osmundson has 100 kills for Hope International while Jared Shirai has tallied 62 digs.
Scouting Benedictine at Mesa: The Redhawks have been idle since a win over UC-Merced on Jan. 21 but have three matches before facing the Gray Wolves. Nic Gibson has 24 kills and Jesus Izaguirre has recorded 16 digs.
Scouting Culver-Stockton: The Wildcats had their two-match win streak snapped at Ottawa on Saturday with a 3-0 setback. Ammuniki Wood leads the way with 42 kills while Zach Blasgen has tallied 71 digs.
Lourdes in Home Openers: The Gray Wolves are 4-1 all-time in their home openers, all of which were played at Tam-o-Shanter. Last year Lourdes downed Lawrence Tech 3-0 to begin the home slate.
Rilveria Earns National Honors: CJ Rilveria was named the NAIA National Libero of the Week on Jan. 24 for his efforts opening weekend. The senior averaged 3.9 digs per set, a mark that ranks third in NAIA volleyball, while posting 16 digs in each of the first two matches of the year.
Maune Starts Quick: Ryan Maune hit .424 with just seven attack errors over the first three weekends of the year. He registered 35 total kills, including 17 in the four-set loss at Clarke. He only had one error in his first two matches, swinging 32 times with 18 kills.
Shifting Conferences: NAIA has reshuffled its conferences yet again heading into 2017. The Gray Wolves will play a double round-robin slate against Lawrence Tech, and Siena Heights as part of a divided independent group. The top two teams from the three Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference schools will advance to the conference tournament against the top two teams among Benedictine at Mesa, Hope International, and UC Merced, which comprise the other half of the independent group. The west coast will host this year's postseason event.
