Lourdes atoned from an earlier loss this season to Siena Heights on Wednesday evening, defeating the Saints 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Genessee Tate (West Covina, Calif./West Covina H.S.) tallied 18 kills and hit .484,
Jami Markus (Oregon, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) handed out 56 assists, and
Emily Arnold (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) was involved in all nine of the Gray Wolves' blocks in the victory.

As a team Lourdes hit .298 while recording 68 kills and holding Siena Heights to just 44 kills. The Gray Wolves also outdug the Saints 81-67.

"This was a great team effort for us after getting swept at their place earlier this year," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We defended our home court with a strong performance. We set the ball well and hit efficiently on offense while playing sound defense."

After falling behind 4-1 in the opening set, Lourdes responded with a 16-3 run to seize control with a 17-7 lead. The Gray Wolves hit .366 in the set with 18 kills while limiting the Saints to just .108 hitting.

Lourdes trailed most of set two before battling back to take a 21-20 lead. Siena Heights scored four of the next six points to retake the lead and even the match at a set each. In the third, with the Gray Wolves trailing 11-9, Lourdes went on an 8-2 run to take the lead for good, piling up 18 more kills in the stanza.

A 12-1 run behind the service of
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) and Markus allowed Lourdes to pull away in the fourth set, building a 17-8 lead on the way to the four-set victory.

Tyler Roberson (Elkhart, Ind./Central H.S.) hit .316 with 16 kills and a team-high 20 digs while
Kristin Murrell (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) also tallied a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs.

Cierra Martinez (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) added 11 kills and hit .360 offensively while
Shannon Fischer (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) and Dippold recorded 17 and 15 digs respectively.

Libby Breton led Siena Heights (17-3, 7-2 WHAC) with 12 kills and hit .346 while Gabrielle Kalugar tallied 25 digs defensively.

Lourdes (16-7, 7-2) will have a week off before beginning a three-match road trip next Wednesday evening, heading to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Concordia (Mich.). First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of Cardinal Fieldhouse.
