A penalty kick goal midway through the second half proved to be the lone offense on Wednesday evening, as Lourdes dropped a 1-0 decision to Cornerstone at the CU Soccer Stadium in Grand Rapids, Mich.
 
Despite being outshot 7-2 in the first half, including 3-0 on goal, the Gray Wolves managed to head into intermission deadlocked at zero.
 
A foul in the box, which also resulted in a red card, with 21:24 remaining in the match, gave the Golden Eagles a penalty kick, and Sebastian Ramos converted for his second goal of the season, which proved to be the match winner.
 
Playing a man down the rest of the match, Lourdes was unable to find the equalizer while concluding its four-match road trip.
 
Cornerstone (3-7-3, 2-4-2 WHAC) finished with a 12-7 shot advantage for the match, including a 6-3 edge on frame.  The Golden Eagles also had a 5-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities in the contest.
 
Akilla Arno (Omaha, Neb./Northwest Magnet H.S.) tallied three of the Gray Wolves' seven shots in the contest, including two of the three on net.
 
Jose Cedillo (Monterrey, Mexico/Norcross H.S.) made five saves in goal for the Gray Wolves while Dary DeWalt made three stops in net for Cornerstone. 
 
Lourdes (4-8-1, 2-6) will return home to Wildcat Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves host first place Lawrence Tech.  Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
