In a game that featured seven ties and 13 lead changes, Lourdes pulled away from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the second half to score a 67-59 victory over the Wolverines for their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory of the season inside the UMD Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.

Sydney Miller (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake H.S.) led three players in double figures with 19 points while
Christiana Jefferson (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) notched her first collegiate double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She also added five assists and three steals in the victory.Â
Tatyana Reynolds (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) chipped in 15 points in the victory.

"I was very happy with our defensive effort today," head coach
Summer Quesenberry said after the game. "We were much stronger in our helpside rotations. We made much better decisions offensively with the ball and were disciplined within our offense."

The Gray Wolves limited Michigan-Dearborn (4-5, 0-2 WHAC) to 37.5% shooting and forced 16 Wolverine turnovers. Despite being outrebounded 39-33 for the game, Lourdes turned 13 offensive rebounds into 16 second chance points.

Neither team led by more than four points in the first half of play, with Lourdes taking a 27-26 lead into the locker room following a three-pointer by Miller, one of four triples in the game for the junior, in the closing seconds of the period.

The first five minutes of the third quarter went back and forth before Lourdes scored six straight points to take a 42-37 advantage with 3:36 remaining. That spurt spearheaded a 14-4 run by the Gray Wolves, capped by a three from
Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.), to put the visitors in front 50-41 late in the stanza.

After the Lourdes lead grew to as many as 10 early in the fourth, Michigan-Dearborn closed to within five, 61-56, with 2:47 to play. The Gray Wolves scored six of the final nine points down the stretch to solidify the victory.

Lourdes shot 32.8% from the floor for the night, but connected of 15-of-19 (78.9%) from the free throw line in the victory.

Megan Swick led Michigan-Dearborn with 22 points.

Lourdes (3-2, 1-1) will return home on Tuesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Concordia (Mich.). Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
