Lourdes jumped out to an early lead only to see Adrian battle back to pull in front on Thursday evening, but the Gray Wolves rallied, winning the final two matches of the night to earn a 24-18 victory over the Bulldogs inside the Merillat Sports & Fitness Center in Adrian, Mich.

"This was a great road win for us tonight in a very hostile environment," head coach
Dock Kelly III said after the match. "Our light and middle weights wrestled well, and we were fortunate enough to ride their momentum to a victory."

With the 141-pound weight class taking the mat first,
Reilly Heater (Ney, Ohio/Fairview H.S.) scored an 11-9 decision to put the Gray Wolves on the scoreboard.Â
Troy Wilson (Puyallup, Wash./Rogers H.S.) and
Ty Wilson (Puyallup, Wash./Rogers H.S.) followed with back-to-back falls at 149 and 157 pounds respectively, increasing the lead to 15-0. For Troy, it was his team-leading fourth pin of the season.

As the match progressed into the upper weight classes, Adrian (2-4) earned a sudden victory win at 165 before adding three major decisions and an 11-7 decision at 184 to build an 18-15 advantage.

Tyler King (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest H.S.) was credited with a victory via forfeit at 125 pounds before
Tyler Roberts (Hudson, Mich./Hudson H.S.) secured the win for the Gray Wolves with his 4-3 sudden victory triumph, improving his record to a team-leading 8-4.

"We have a short turnaround for our matches on Saturday, but I'm looking forward to ending the semester on a winning streak," Kelly concluded.

Lourdes (2-5) will return to the mats on Saturday as the Gray Wolves travel to Parkersburg, W. Va. for a pair of contests. The Gray Wolves face host Ohio Valley in an 11:30 a.m. match before battling Kent State-Tuscarawas in a 1 p.m. match.
