Deuce Martin's (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview H.S.) career-high 22 points paced five Gray Wolves in double figures on Friday evening as Lourdes cruised to a 91-51 victory over Kent State-Tuscarawas to open a four-game homestand inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"I'm very pleased with the effort and execution of our team tonight," head coach
Josh Gibson said afterwards. "We played hard, played unselfishly, and did a great job of containing their leading scorer as well."

Martin made 9-of-13 shots from the floor, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, for his first career double figure scoring game. The freshman sparked the Gray Wolf bench, which outscored the Golden Eagles 55-25 for the night.

Malik Thurman (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins H.S.) scored 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting while
Jordan Fabry (Shalersville, Ohio/Crestwood H.S.) added 11 points.Â
Darriontae Stewart (Cleveland, Rhodes H.S.) made all five of his attempts from the floor on his way to 10 points while
Vic McEwen (Flint, Mich./Atherton H.S.) finished in double figures for the second straight game, finishing with 10 points as well.

Lourdes shot 56.7% from the floor on the evening and connected on 13 three-pointers, shooting 41.9% from long range. The Gray Wolves turned the ball over just seven times while forcing 21 miscues from the Golden Eagles, 17 via steals.

An 18-2 run over six minutes midway through the first half broke the game open for the Gray Wolves, as Lourdes built an early 27-8 lead. After Kent State-Tuscarawas cut the lead to 14, Lourdes went on another 15-3 spurt before taking a 47-20 lead into the locker room.

The Gray Wolves led by 22 or more points throughout the second half, and closed the game on a 29-12 run over the final 12 minutes for the final margin.

Jerry Leatherman led Kent State-Tuscarawas (3-11) with 25 points off the bench while Zach Camporese added 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

"Hopefully we can play with a similar level of intensity tomorrow and head back into conference play with some positive momentum and a three-game winning streak," Gibson concluded.

Lourdes (6-9) will return to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon, hosting Akron Wayne in the Gray Wolves' final non-conference tilt of the season. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
